The National Energy and Geology Laboratory (LNEG) is a state laboratory that carries out advanced Research, Development, and Demonstration in the areas of Energy and Geology in Portugal, under the tutelage of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action. LNEG actively participates in national and international R&D+I projects and technological assistance and consultancy contracts with the business community, as well as providing support to public policies. Its participation in ALGAVALOR project focuses on work package 4, where it is responsible for harvesting microalgae biomass, drying, and analyzing their life cycle, and work package 5, where it is allocated to pre-treatment optimization (ammonia stripping, electrocoagulation and Photo-Fenton) and effluent treatment.
