Founded in 1920, in Mondego valley, Ernesto Morgado SA. is the oldest rice industry in Portugal. In recent years the company has focused on developing ready-to-eat meals and side dishes based on pre-prepared rice. In the ALGAVALOR project, the company is involved in work package 1 for the production of meat substitutes, based on microalgae that can be sold directly or incorporated into ready-to-eat meals.
